What books would you suggest for a liberal reader for a government class?

I have to read a book and do a project over the summer based on a political science book for a government class, and I was just curious as to any ideas for a pretty liberal person. I am willing to read something that I will more or less agree with, but I am also willing to read something that will make me furious. So any suggestions would be fantastic. Thanks!
